If live broadcasting is not required, you don’t need any separate hardware. SOIVA Studio runs on a cloud server and is managed via a web browser. For live use, programmes are produced using the Mac version of SOIVA Studio, which can also be managed remotely if needed.

Gramex and Teosto offer different levels of licences for running radio stations. Larger, advertising-funded stations pay copyright fees as a percentage of turnover. For smaller internet radio stations, the copyright organisations have their own reasonably priced licences. We help determine which licences are needed for your specific situation. SOIVA reports played music automatically, which simplifies copyright declarations.

Operating an FM radio station requires either a short-term broadcasting licence or a longer-term radio operation licence from Traficom. You will also need licences from Gramex and Teosto. We help with sorting these out.

Current implementations include Mökkiradio (a local FM radio on three frequencies, running entirely from the cloud) and Radio Soho (a gastropub internet radio).
